About Tom Meister

Tom Meister serves as a Partner at Brightpoint Law after nearly a decade working in financial technology and investment firms as a legal and business executive. He primarily represents investment firms, specialty finance companies, and financial technology and blockchain companies in bespoke debt financings and high stakes regulatory or corporate governance matters. Tom also maintains an active pro bono practice advising nonprofits and small businesses, especially in the Oakland/Berkeley area, on their financing and governance needs.

After beginning his career in the debt finance practices at Wilson Sonsini Goodrich & Rosati PC and Goodwin Procter LLP, Tom served as Senior Counsel, Capital Markets and Finance at Funding Circle, where he led a variety of initiatives across its credit, partnerships and financing programs. Tom then co-founded and served as COO and General Counsel of NepFin, another venture-backed fintech lender, through their acquisition by Zilch, where he continued to serve as US COO & General Counsel. Tom’s interest in blockchain technology led him to serve as Chief Legal Officer at Airtm before becoming GP of a family office focused on the future of financial technology, Temescal Creek Investments, and CEO of a blockchain startup, Thaw Digital, both of which keep him busy when not serving his clients at Brightpoint.

Tom received his BA, cum laude, from Columbia and his JD from Berkeley.
