About Tom Meister
Tom Meister serves as a Partner at Brightpoint Law after over a decade working in financial technology and investment firms as a business and legal executive. He primarily represents investment firms, specialty finance companies, and financial technology and blockchain companies in bespoke debt financings and high stakes regulatory or corporate governance matters. Tom also maintains an active pro bono practice advising nonprofits and small businesses, especially in the Oakland/Berkeley area, on their financing and governance needs.
After beginning his career in the debt finance practices at Wilson Sonsini Goodrich & Rosati PC and Goodwin Procter LLP, Tom started the credit and capital markets operations team and later served as Senior Counsel, Capital Markets and Finance at Funding Circle, in which role he oversaw the development of its retail and institutional funding programs leading up to the company’s listing. Tom then co-founded and served as COO and General Counsel of NepFin, another venture-backed fintech lender, through their acquisition by Zilch, where he continued to serve as US COO & General Counsel. Tom later served as Chief Legal Officer at Airtm, an early stablecoin account provider to users in emerging markets. Today, outside of his responsibilities at Brightpoint, Tom serves as General Partner of a number of investment funds focused on structured credit, financial technology, and commercial real estate.
